Protecting the Gaviota Coast

A landscape view of green rolling hills with small trees and a winding road, overlooking the ocean under a clear blue sky.

Gaviota Preserves

Gaviota Preserves protects the Gaviota Coast — the last undeveloped stretch of coastline in Southern California — through acquisition-led conservation, permanently securing, restoring, and stewarding at-risk coastal, agricultural, and habitat lands before they are lost to development.

Our anchor project is Rancho Tajiguas, a 3,272-acre coastal property under long-term stewardship, where we are advancing regenerative agriculture, habitat protection, and public access.

This is the official website of Gaviota Preserves. Our expanded website is currently in development.

Gaviota Preserves is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN 42-2829509. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
